Vic Morrow was quite the man...

He was an attractive man. Mmmm, hmmm.

Such beautiful blue eyes and the perfect amount of chest hair.

And the deep voice with the New York accent.

Why do I suddenly feel like I'm becoming infatuated?

Marry me,Bob Gunton!

He sure was. But in the early sixties he was gorgeous. By 1975 (when this movie was filmed) he looked more rugged due to drinking and heavy smoking, but still very charismatic. He had hordes of starlets on his tail, although at the time this film was made, he was married to his second wife, a stewardess named Gayle Lester. Before that he was involved in a long term relationship with a self-styled socialite called Lady Coco. In between his first marriage (1957-1964) to the talented actress/writer Barbara Turner and his affair with Coco, he was seen with a half-dozen or so beautiful television actresses, but no one really famous.

In his last years, before his appalling death by decapitation on The Twilight Zone set in 1982, there were more younger women, especially after his divorce from the stewardess in 1979. His last girlfriend was an ambitious model/starlet named Judy, a pretty English girl who was so anxious to get a leg up in show business, that she wrote a letter to Director John Landis' secretary at Warner Bros. to inquire if Landis would look at her portfolio and maybe give her a part in his next venture. Mind you, this was after Landis was indicted for the manslaughter death of Morrow on the set of Twilight Zone, which also killed two small children. Talk about having no respect for the dearly departed.

Poor Vic. Although The Bad News Bears was the mega hit of 1976, and has remained a classic ever since, he was never able to get a part in any major feature until the disastrous Twilight Zone. Amazingly, Landis and his four fellow defendants (some of whom may have been drunk or stoned on the set) blamed Vic for the tragedy. Hollywood is a heartless town filled with disagreeable sociopaths with no respect for the law because they believe that they are above the laws that govern the rest of us. Apparently, no one involved in the Twilight Zone tragedy believes that they should take responsibility for anything. It robs Vic Morrow's death of any genuine meaning, all the more so because he has been largely forgotten.

I noticed he was a lot thinner in this movie. I know he smoked and drank heavily especially after his mother's death.

Morrow was an exceptionally talented actor and director. I love "Combat!" and he was perfect in that role. He was woefully underused and underrated. He actually has quite a few fans all over the world because of "Combat!" There's a facebook group for the show that has 633 members.

The way he and the children were killed is beyond sad and horrific. There are cruel jokes about him and the way he died. I've known who Morrow was for quite some time now, mostly because of 'The Bad News Bears' and the way he died. It wasn't until recently that I became a fan and realized how talented he was.

I just hope he and the children are at peace.

People have no class today, and no respect for the dead. Money talks if you're desperate enough. I hate the times we live in. It's getting sicker every day. Rest in peace Mr. Morrow; both you and those adorable children are in a better place than we are.

From what I've been told, death certificates are now public and anyone can get their hands on one. I did not know that until a week ago.

But why would anyone want Morrow's death certificate? It's so morbid.

I love Bob

Morrow had a good head on his shoulders.
