Bought First 4 Seasons Because...

of Squiggy's mixed metaphors("he'll beat me to a crisp") and I think he has the best lines in the show. "The Stakeout Episode" Laverne(covering up a black FBI agent):"all my cousins are tall and dark." Squiggy :"But he's very dark,Laverne". Hilarious.Also because of Shirley being the stereotypical throwback of the old-fashioned girl(a thing of the past) and cute as a button. The character dichotomy between the 2 leads made for some funny juxtapositions. Loosy-goosy versus the prude. One thing I didn't like was all the "variety type shows.talent shows,singing on the front steps and never ending Big Ragoo performances. It was like a vaudeville act within a sitcom format.Reeks of desperation for ideas.Other than that I don't watch anything tamer than this but to go thru the 4 Seasons once in a while-----I don't mind smiling and sometimes laughing.
