Yes.
The point was for the Who to indulge themselves
This was the first time I have seen this film and from the comments here it seems the original album was better. (I was familiar only with a description of the plot and the "Pinball Wizard" song, and probably this version of it at that.)
I have heard similar things about the Monkees, that they made Head as a serious film, and whether or not it succeeded as serious, it did not go over well. I have not seen that one or heard the music.
Might be interesting to see another take on this.
No, the point was for Ken Russel to indulge himself, not The Who.
That was during the brief period when Russell did self-indulgence well.
I think it's a pretty solid story. Are you not seeing the story or doesn't it reach you?
