never seen tommy until now. I always had thought it was probably 70s garbage….but wow. really amazing. It portrays a man with a disability finding his strength and downfall in life. amazing. and ann margret really should have gotten the oscar that year. and daltry as well.
shareWell, it is definitely an "interesting" sort of movie and far from garbage, but The Academy would never have given any sort of legitimacy to this off-the-wall eccentricity. Probably still wouldn't. It has a certain artistic bent, but it is not that good and notable performances rarely get praised so highly in films that aren't well received. Hollywood thinks very highly of itself that way.
