Kanye West should be Cousin Kevin. Andre Benjamin would be a better Pinball Wizard.

That said, I would be willing to pay an infinite amount of money to see this film be made.

But I'm willing to bet that this movie was actually made ten years ago and is slated for like a 2010 release. Tupac is probably starring in it.

Well, since Tina Turner is the only featured black performer in "Tommy" wouldn't it be fair to feature one white performer as the acid queen in this new version? How about Taylor Dane. (no offense to Ms. Dayne, who I think is a phenomenal singer, I just think this whole thread is kind of humorous)

Yes, I agree this thread is humor and probably just a joke, but a black version of "Tommy" has great potential. I agree Taylor Dayne would be good as the "token white chick" as the Acid Queen. Josh Stone would also work. A few years ago I would have said Courtney Love, but that's hitting a bit too close to home now.

1972's Symphonic Tommy release has a good integrated cast of Blacks and Whites. Richie Havens and Merry Clayton (of Gimme Shelter backup vocals fame) do an excellent job as the Hawker and the Acid Queen.

I have all three major versions.

The London Symphony version, the original Who version, and the movie soundtrack.

My favorite is the London Symphony.

I own all those too, along with Isle of Wight 1970 which features a blazing, massively rocking runthrough of most of Tommy. That's my overall favorite way to hear Tommy.

Well, The Wiz was reinvention of "Wizard of Oz", with a totally different musical score. an "ethnic" version of "Tommy" could work, as long as they used the original score.
