What do you think happens to Jonathan E. after the movie ends?

What I mean is, where does the story go next? I always assumed Jonathan E. has now unintentionally become some kind of political figure to the masses. He’s crossed the line into legend as most revolutionaries do. Become somewhat messianic.

Does he go on to lead a revolution against the corporations?

I’d be interested to hear what others think.

I have always assumed that a big riot broke out immediately after the game, and that Jonathan was right in the thick of it, busting heads left and right, still in his Rollerball uniform. I also think the executives who were at the stadium would probably all be running for their cars one step ahead of the mob, but would probably be caught and strung up from lamp posts or else simply ripped apart like stuffed toys.

Next time you watch the end of the film, notice the way Mr. Bartholomew gets up from his seat in a hurry as Jonathan is about to score the final goal. He's obviously scared to death and trying to get to his car before the riot starts!

I would expect him to have a deadly accident...just like dissidents these days in Russia.

Jonathan E. made his point on the arena. There would be no fights breaking out and he no longer would continue to be in the game after that, in order to ensure the crumbling of the game.
Nothing would happen to him essentially, not with his coverage and stardom he achieved. As you all may have seen it in the film dissent over the decision to remove him was brewing up on the highest level of the corporation and in the end of the film even executives were up in flames shouting Jonathan E. Jonathan E.

I love this film!
Ps: Very nice question and responses by the way... We are so used to trolls. Kudos

I think he knows he will somehow disappear soon.
