Just watched it!
And loved it!
Gritty 70s crime is my favorite genre , can’t believe I missed.

Me, too! It was gritty as hell and very well done. The POV shots as Joey was hanging onto cab bumpers and careening around were intense. So curious how they were able to pull off all those stunts. And the the rooftop chase between Stick and Bo was nuts! No way they'd be able to film a scene like that today. It would be all green screen.
I think we probably have some similar favorites. Here's a few of mine: French Connection, Taking of Pelham One Two Three (great bit part by Jerry Stiller), Hickey & Boggs (70s LA grit), The Getaway (favorite McQueen film), The Seven-Ups, Night Moves, Thief (1981, but still has that 70s vibe).
Ha!
Love all those plus Across 125th Street, Prime Cut( with Lee Marvin and Gene Hackman as the baddie) and Dirty Harry ( of course!)
I've had Prime Cut on my list for years, but can never seem to catch it on TV. Thanks for the reco about Across 110th Street. I'll watch Yaphet Kotto in anything. That dude (and Eastwood and Hackman) ruled the 70s. Dirty Harry is like The Godfather of 70s grit--will stop and watch whenever it's on TV.
