Dick Richards
Why wasn't this great director able to make more films in Hollywood?? He only made a few and I find this very strange.Farewell, my loveley may be the best neo-noir ever!

Probably it's because most of his movies didn't make money.
Did you make coffee...? Make it!--Cheyenne.
Because he burned his bridges and burned himself out.
shareIt's a pity that Dick Richards didn't direct more movies. He did a splendid job with this film.
I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
Late reply, I know, but I just saw your post. I worked for this movie's producer, Elliott Kastner from 1987 to 1990, and he told me that while making Heat (not the Al Pacino one, the Burt Reynolds one), Richard's final film, Reynolds punched Richards out and he Reynolds) left the film, returning later only to have a bad fall - you can read about it on Wiki if you look up Dick Richards on there. Reynolds was a dick (and probably still is).
