Was wondering if Clint got the idea for Miles to be an assassin from Cassidy's character from The ALfred Hitchcock Hour episode "The Photographer and the Undertaker?" He plays an assassin in it, very efficient but not as gay.

You do realize that the film was based on the novel by Trevanian, don't you?
