Raiders of the Lost Ark 'homage' to 'The Eiger Sanction'?

Is it just me, or does 'Raiders' steal a scene from the start of 'The Eiger Sanction'? The man-of-action hero leads a double-life as an academic, which is established by showing him lecturing to a class, who hang on his every word, and all the pretty young girls are attracted to him! In 'The Eiger Sanction', a pretty female student propositions Dr. Hemlock, and in 'Raiders', a pretty female student flirts with Dr. Jones by writing 'LOVE YOU' on her eyelids. The scene worked really well setting up the hero in 'The Eiger Sanction' (1975), so I understand why Lucas and Spielberg used it to set up their multi-talented hero in 'Raiders' too, 6 years later.

There was a stong disposition in the disposition of Hemlock and Jones. Dr. Jones was a little bit servous about it. As Sean Connery remarked "James Bond would have had those coeds for breakfast"
Hemlock was firmly in change of things and not uncomfortable at all - he knew how to deal with it.

Funny you should mention that because I just watched the film and the scene when Eastwood takes on his helmet with the sunset behind him was strikingly similar to the famous sunset shot in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You might be right that there was a deliberate homage to The Eiger Sanction, but I didn't see that.

The thing about every girl being attracted to Dr Hemlock is a fairly standard Hollywood sub-plot where the leading man is often cast as being irrestible to woman. I've seen heaps of flms where this happens, and nt just to Indiana Jones or James Bond either.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

I'm irresistible to all women. But due to my highly moral views I have asked them to pretend they find me repulsive. Many go so far as to vomit whenever they see me, or kick their heels into my scrotum. And none of you had any idea!!

I was thinking the exact same thing 10 mins into watching this.
I think Lucas borrowed rather heavily from this film.

I noticed this as well after watching this again.
