***SPOILER***You're limping…
I was watching this on Netflix, and I had to stop in the middle and resume two days later, so I hope someone will remind me how Hemlock knew that Ben's limp indicated that Ben was the killer.

I'm not disputing your theory, but he would have seen Ben limping long before the climax, and he would have seen that none of the three possible suspects had a limp long before they started climbing. You could be right, and we could chalk it up to poor writing if you are. Maybe I'm not judging this movie by the standards of its day. After all, people used to jump up and confess in courtroom dramas back then, and if viewers could swallow that, they could probably let this revelation slide. Still, the movie had some good aspects, so I'm not saying that it sucked or anything--maybe just a little dated.

On the way back down from the mountain, he asks something like "how did you know it was me"...to which he says (again) that he had a limp and he replies that the cold [of being up on the mountain] made his limp play up.
shareI know this response is a bit late but I watched it for the first time today and made a mental note of George Kennedy NOT limping at all previous to the end. I mean he's even running with Clint when Clint starts his training.
shareHe tell Clint the cold causes his limp due to frostbite he suffered when they were climbing years ago. So normally his leg is fine. It's not a plot hole or anything.
