am I the only one who thinks the final questions are ridiculous now?

I am not a regular viewer of Wheel of Fortune, but I've been watching it lately because of James Holzhauer on Jeopardy, and I noticed that practically no one ever wins the final round these days. And that is because the puzzles are ridiculous.

Like, what's a "quirky author"? I could understand if it was something by genre, like say "horror author", but has quirky author ever been a thing? Is it an expression you hear often?

Or another one I remember (I think the category was "people") - "happy babies". Again, that's not an expression.

In fact of all the recent questions, I felt that "quick to judge" was the only one that could actually be guessed (at least I guessed it before the buzzer went off).

I feel they are just making the final round unwinnable because the choices are so stupid.

nah, it's always been pretty difficult. really depends what letters you pick. they made the answers more complex years ago when they started giving you the RSTLNE right off the bat.

My issue with their puzzles is that a phrase should really be a phrase, and a person should be something one encounters in real life and not something they just completely made up. I would have been very angry to receive a question like that if it was me on the game.

Case in point - today's "buzzing around town". Maybe a rumor or something could be "buzzing around town", but that can't be an answer to the question "what are you doing".

Honestly in my opinion they are just cheating. I guess it's not like the players can file a class-action suit...

I've watched this game for years and I've noticed the final puzzles difficulty was based on the amount of money the contestant won to get to the bonus round.
Now those puzzles are long enough to be used during regular gameplay. The audience no longer groans when the player doesn't get the answer correct, because even they know the contestant had no chance to solve the puzzle.

On a side note, I think the bonus round wheel is rigged with multiple wedges containing the same dollar amount.

It's not rigged, there has always been a lot more of the lowest prize on the wheel compared to the other prizes but that doesn't make it rigged.
