Which one is more iconic or the better show. For me. As a kid growing up. I lean towards The Jeffersons. AITF to me just seemed bland as a kid. The Jeffersons hold up more.

I think they were roughly equal at their peak, but All in the Family was better for longer. The Jefferson's last few seasons are pretty cringeworthy at times. I think what killed both shows is when George and Archie stopped being racists. While it was nice to see them grow as characters, it took the edge off the shows and turned them both into just another silly sitcom.

No comparable. For a spinoff from a Norman Lear show, it wasn't produced by Norman Lear--and had a different quality.

I 'understood' the Jeffersons better as a college-educated woman with multiple disabilities--who wasn't expected to be successful. I felt George was justified how he acted.
I don't see the two shows as comparable. The Jeffersons was funnier and more sitcom. AITF was more thought provoking. Both were great.
If either show was real life I would rather hang with the Jeffersons and their kith and kin
I did like the Jeffersons more growing up but I did love All in the Family too.
