Doesn't affect me, I bought the Blu-ray complete set recently, and am I glad I did! I recommend you do the same thing before the BBC do something stupid like have it taken off of store shelves.

In days of yore, the court jester was the only one who could mock the king. The function (as I had it told to me) was that this enabled a softer blow to come and gave the ruler a chance to see his missteps. The satire could prevent him from making a bad political move when the jester's mocking bit in. While at the same time sparing him the embarrassment of having another courtier directly criticising him, causing him to lose face.
Now the jesters aren't allowed to mock anymore for the same reason: people are worried the jester has a great point.
Lighten up, everybody.
Also: The Germans was the funniest episode of Fawlty Towers. This is cutting off their (the BBC's) nose to spite their face.
I'm sure many rulers executed court jesters who overstepped their bounds. I know of at least one fictional example.
Probably right. Nevertheless, my point remains the same: PC/cancel culture is humourless and spiteful, and anybody who can't see the point of farce or satire is somebody who is foolish and is likely to remain so.
