I didn't laugh once
I think this movie is a good recreation of the Frankenstein movies from the 30s/40s, and it's somewhat amusing, but not one time did I laugh at anything.

shareCheck for a pulse, you may be dead and not know it. Seriously you must have been trying not to laugh or just not in the right mood. I could understand you saying it wasn't the laugh riot you heard it was but to not laugh once? I just dont believe that. You obviously appreciate ridiculous, absurd humor i.e. The Naked Gun so you should watch it again. I recommend that you watch Son of Frankenstein before watching YF again and you will appreciate the spoof/gags much more.
shareAnd the cast is not diverse. They should go back and CGI in some black people.
shareI don't find it hysterical, but it gets just enough laughs out of me to give it a mild recommendation. There are some really funny ideas in the film's script, and Gene Wilder's performance is outstanding, but what bogs it down is its pacing. There are far too many lulls and silences in between each joke. It's as though Mel Brooks thought his movie was so funny that he needed to give his audience a break in between each gag he throws. Some of the jokes' setups go on for far too long as well. His later films would have this sorta thing figured out much better, I think he was still experimenting with his craft here.
shareSUCKS TO BE YOU.
shareI didn't laugh once either.
I laughed 500 times.
I counted them. Honest.
Some of the jokes weren't funny but FIVE HUNDRED were.
Amazing!
Really? I laughed my ass off
shareThanks for posting this dude, I thought I was the only one. This just isn't funny. The only time I (very slightly) laughed is when the sidekick with a hunch picked up the small bag instead of the heavy one.
