Which parts were funny?

I've seen it several time. My parents of the older generation swear it's the funniest movie ever made. I've seen it several times and get a chuckle but not to be considered a comedy. It's highly overrated. It was more of a spoof with comedic elements from the older Frankenstein movies. Comedic elements coming about once every 30 minutes. Just wasn't funny. And I'll shut it down now. I'm not a comedic fan of Seth Rogan and that James Franco, Apatow *beep*

You didn't like it. Fine. That doesn't mean that it's over rated. It means you didn't find it funny. Lots of others, including me, do. It's called a matter of taste.

reply

It just went over your head, but that's fine. Perhaps you might like broader comedy.

Second funniest movie. The Producers will always be number one for me.
But humor, like beauty, is subjective. If you don't find it funny, then you don't. Doesn't make it overrated. Just not your cup of tea.

"Where you headed?"
"Nowhere special."
"Nowhere special. Always wanted to go there."

Woooosh.

You too young son, and evidently need a lot more life experience. Go get some and watch it again in ten years. Right now you have no basis to form an opinion.

reply

Too young? I'm 24 and married. I cant think of much more life experiences? Sorry, my parents house never had a basement so... WOOOOSH.

WOW!! A whole TWENTY FOUR YEARS OLD!! You must know everything about everything by now!! What does being married have to do with your maturity? 16 year olds can knock someone up and have a shotgun wedding....that may or may not be your reason for tying the knot, but being married is ZERO indication of intelligence OR maturity, so leave your wife (or husband) out of your argument, please.
Clearly a child like you is incapable of understanding the humour behind Mel Brooks movies, since you were nowhere near close to being alive yet - do you dismiss movies from the 1930's - 1960's for the same ignorant reason? You millennials are so ridiculous, imho - guess what, little boy - the World doesn't actually revolve around y'all!! (sorry to burst your bubble)
But have a lovely weekend, won't you? Cheers!

I never said the world revolved around me or anybody. And little boy? Take it easy there bud, easy to talk smack over the internet. But from your username it sounds like your Canadian. So that being said I am sorry. And you watch Toddlers and Tiaras. Talk about getting a life much.

I watched T & T once......and not the entire hour. See, that's how I make informed opinions about TV shows, I watch them (or as much of them as I can stomach). Drop me a line in 30 years and tell me what your opinion of 24 year olds is then. And I have some sad news for you, my young friend - I think you'll find the older you get, the more you are going to turn into your parents. (don't misunderstand, I'm sure you have decent folks, but I'm also pretty sure they drve you up the wall at times, and you've already said "man! I'll NEVER be like them!"
Here's looking forward to 2046!!

24 years old is very young, trust me, I know when a person is old.

What utter nonsense. This is not some sophisticated highbrow humour.

I laughed a few times and chucked a couple more but in general I don't really know what to think about this movie. It's one of those cases where I feel that I'm in the danger of overrating it out of a respect for a classic.
