shareIf I am not mistaken, that is General Richard Glücks played by Hannes Messemer. He is seen again later talking to some of the ex officers from the reunion dinner. Hope this helps.

I love the movie. Have seen it many times but I am confused about the old guy in the balcony. You get the impression first that he is Roschmann but it is never explained who he is. Also have to comment on the great role played by Derek Jacobi as Klaus Wencer and his bed-ridden mother who is so like Edith's mother in the UK tv series 'Allo, 'Allo.

If you've seen "Dead Again" Derek Jacobi appears to be playing the same character again, only a little older and a bit more psychotic. He has an elderly mother in an upstairs room who he has to go off and see in that film. I was really surprised to find him in the Odessa File playing the same man-with-bedridden-mother-upstairs role.
They couldn't understand your sense of humour like I do.
