Compared to the book
hey I have read the book that this film was based upon. This book really captivated my imagionation. As I was reading Irealised it was film worthy material, did they pull it off????

shareIt depends on how you look at it. As a film, it does rather well. It does keep you on the edge of your seat through many parts. The acting is quite good. As a film based on the book,(and on some historical background) not as good as it could have been. While the movie in itself is not disappointing, several scenes from the book that could easily have been in the film were either changed or left out. Some of the scenes that were kept in were rushed a little too much, and there is very little background information on any of the characters. Peter reading the diary being the most significant shortened scene. In my opinion, check out the movie, but try and watch it without waiting for events from the book to unfold. It will also be more enjoyable if you watch it with someone who has never read the book or seen the movie. I do not think watching the movie could ever ruin the reading of the book, but in a shortened version of "Did they pull it off." NO.

Couldn't agree with what was said before more. The film feels rushed and a lot of the good stuff in the book that could have easily been in the movie was left out. Pity! Hope a remake will come out. With a brown-haired Müller, please!
shareI saw the movie before I read the book.
I remember really liking the movie, and the payoff took me by surprise.
When I read the book there was a moment early on where it is fairly obviuous that the man who was killed by Roschmann is Peter Miller's father.
Es ist mir scheiß egal.

IMDb VERY twitchy & Glitchy today. When I realized I was calling you "daughter woman" I tried to correct my mistake and when I hit the edit button I kept getting "reply". So you see the semi-mess above. Ich spreche sehr KLEIN Deutsch von shule tag. Auf Weidersehn.
No problem!
