Recently purchased this movie on DVD, expecting the version described under "DVD Details", containing both the full and widescreen versions, but instead received a disc with only the full screen image. I prefer the widescreen (2.35:1) version. How many different DVD versions of this movie were released in the U.S., and why???
I have the same question, neighturboy. I was just about to order it on DVD from Amazon BECAUSE the review talked of not only how good the transfer to DVD was, but that it also came with both full screen and wide screen included, then something told me to read some reviews first and I saw where one person's review said he ordered it and it came in only a full screen format.
I want to get this movie, but am wondering if (1) Is there a wide screen version available?, and (2) what is the best DVD release to buy, out of the several different selections shown at Amazon?
If you find a widescreen (2.35:1) please let me know. Amazon doesn't always have reliable information as it usually comes from the DVD package itself. We already know that Sony has blatantly lied when it comes to this title, so proceed at your own risk. However, knowing Amazon's reputation, you should have no problem returning a product it it's not as advertised, or what you want.
