Is this movie based on a real case?
Is this movie based on a real case? If it was how much of this movie is reality
and how much has been made up?
I read in Philip French's 'Malle on Malle' book that Malle had read an article in a newspaper about a peasant boy who did much the same thing as Lacombe Lucien. But he only remembered the generality of the article, but after he made the film people contacted him saying that the character closely remembered someone who really did do those things during the war.

this is a work of FICTION but there are many cases which Malle was inspired by. Not only were these cases from the French World War II place or period, but other areas in different times.
