One big problem

I have a problem with the fact there was no backstory on why the woman would give birth to a monster baby. Did I miss that explanation? The real redeeming factor of this movie was the acting of John Ryan IMO. All in all a so so horror film.

There was a brief conversation between a (pharmaceutical?) executive and one of the other characters about it perhaps being caused by the wife's previous use of the birth control pill. It was sort of a non-explanation as they didn't say that WAS the cause. Seemed kind of tacked on.

Would have been better if they said it was something unpredictable, like a genetic mutation or the much maligned red 40. If one of the iterations of the pill causes mutant babies, just don't take that one. Or perhaps KEEP taking it, as it were!

Didn't one of the dads in the waiting room say something about chemicals?

The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
