How is it possible that I had overlooked this one after all of these years? Pervasive feeling of dread; great use of "real life" locations (Mobil gas station, Ralph's), and, of course, Marianna and Anitra! I'm in 70's horror movie drive-in heaven.

We are of a similar mind on this. Those two are probably what prompted me to watch it the first time a few years ago. Especially Anitra (but I liked Marianna too). Then this movie became enjoyable to me on multiple levels and I probably watch it once a year now.
A very different take on a zombie flick and potentially apocalyptic scenario.
