A laser beam was applied to Bin Laden's compound windows but they were unable, as the story goes, distinguish words. What they could determine was if a male or a female were speaking. Some claim they have a large dish that can record human voices good enough to hear the content of conversation taking place 2 miles away. And this was back in the early '70's. Harry Call even went as far as installing a tubular cam lock yet he would not install a hidden camera trained on his entry door. The technology existed in the '70's for him to do it. He would had a video record of all entries.
