Perfect movie

I watched Chinatown some time ago, and it instantly became the best movie I've seen. I used to consider There Will Be Blood my favourite film, but it changed after watching this neo-noir mystery masterpiece. Fantastic acting, direction and scripting. In my opinion it's like a textbook on good story writing. The dialogue is the best I've seen in a movie, it's just so good. The screenplay is just perfect, I don't have any other word to describe it. I'm usually picky about movies, but Chinatown is one of those ones where I can't really see any flaws, all the components of a great movie are present.

Jack Nicholson has already been my favourite actor, but I didn't really know what he was capable of before watching this movie. Why he did not win the Academy Award in 1975 is beyond me, maybe if The Godfather weren't released in the same year, he would have won. He is the definition of a snarker character, always delivering lines filled with sarcasm and cynicism, even though it's merit of the extremely sharp script too. Faye Dunaway performance was as good or even better than Nicholson's, what an amazing actress. John Huston played one of the best villains I've seen, being that evil requires lots of talent. The other supporting characters were also excellent.

Just my two cents about this movie, because I can't praise it enough. I haven't watched any movie lately, because I feel like I'm not going to ever find a movie as good as Chinatown again.
