It's been about two years since I first watched Black Christmas, and at the time, I remember thinking the film was just okay. Weren't there a lot of scenes with the police? I hate it when horror movies get bogged down by police investigation plotlines.
Bob Clark's other horror movie, Deathdream, is a far superior film.
Welcome to Fright Night....for real.
The police scenes are pretty bad and slow things down a lot, I agree. Eventually scene after scene of people talking on the phone got old too, and even the death scenes were pretty lame. Honestly you could edit the movie down to an hour and not lose anything.
shareRubbish, it's a great movie that set the template for the slasher film and did it with style, intrigue, good performances and humour
shareIt must be overrated. You said Feh.
shareI'd disagree. If anything, it's the most underrated out of all underrated horror films I've seen in my life, and simply in general.

shareUntil Black Christmas finds itself sitting nicely in the top 10 on greatest horror films of all time lists (Halloween & The Texas Chain Saw Massacre always make the top 10) it'll be underrated.
shareDefinitely an underrated film.
shareI watched it again last night with my sis & she thought it was okay but not great. She mostly liked the phone call rantings by the killer when he kept switching up his voice & stuff. I liked those parts too. We also did notice that the scene with the boyfriend in the basement at the end made no sense! I can't figure how he knew the girl ran down there? Seems kinda forced u know.
