Proper aspect ratio
I've ordered the Japanese DVD, which should be fun, but I'm kind of worried about whether the 1.85:1 aspect ratio is correct (yes, I worry about that even for this movie; I'm one of those). The IMDb says not only that the original ratio is 2.35:1, but that it was filmed in Todd-AO 35; it seems oddly specific for something that's incorrect. Does anyone know for sure what the deal is here?
Edit: Okay, now I've seen the DVD. 1.85:1 is definitely the correct aspect ratio; no way was this cropped from a wider frame. And the two people who care breathe a sigh of relief.
