Yes!!!!! I am not alone. I was only 7 when I saw this TV ad (my brother and I stayed up late one night to watch THE GHOUL and this TV spot came on), I remember the logo slowly zooming in and the announcer saying "BEEYYOOONNNDDD THE DOOORRR!!" and running upstairs to bed!!
Seeing this again sure brings back memories. Thank you!
And to think that 25 years later, Juliet Mills would delve into the supernatural again as the witch Tabitha Lennox on PASSIONS.
You are welcome.
They do little references to Jessica Barrett on "Passions." The "Passions" writers have levitated Tabitha vertically, put her in straight jackets, and had her break a goldfish bowl.
When I was a kid, I could hear that last breath Robert takes at the end of the ad through my finger-stopped ears. That's how I knew to open my eyes and watch T.V. again.
I was 9 years old when this movie came out and I remember it well because when I got up to watch my Saturday morning cartoons low and behold WHOOOOOOOOOO AREEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUU came on cereal went everywhere and I had nightmares for weeks Im telling you they showed no pity with the ads back in the day.
Life's too short live it to the fullest!!!
God, I loved that trailer. Oddly, I remember seeing the film, but nothing about it. Maybe it was "Beyond the Door II"... I have recollection of it whatsoever.
shareWe're geezing it up today on IMDB.com!LOL I remember this trailer, too. I'll be 40 next month and seeing all these trailers and JOT clips on youtube.com is making the journey worthwhile.

Oh my God. I can't believe there's anyone else out there who remembers this. I don't know how many nights of sleep I lost because of this commercial. And the one for MAGIC. And (believe it or not) the one for THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK. I was easily scared, I guess. :)
I CANT BELIEVE I HAVENT HEARD OF THIS..
Looks liken a very good Exorcist rip-off!
Bullshyt MR han-man!!

That was.....AWESOME!
Betty-"Oh,Ralph?"
Ralph-"Yes?"
Betty-"SHOVE IT!"
Ralph-"Oh,you shove it too,Betty!"
The print ad / movie poster frakked with me more than the trailer (which I never saw til I hit the YouTube link). Hell I was only THREE! when I saw the poster in the local newspaper movie times section and its stayed with me after 33 freakin' years!!
The trailer was kinda spooky, but VERY 70s! :)
And, yep, she did look A LOT like Kristen Dunst when her noggin was doin' a 180º
Ok..I'm wasting time here on IMDB and I take a look at this film and I can't beleive that there is a thread about the TV Spot here...That spot scared me like nothing else ever has when I was a kid...
I am 6'4 210lbs own a home am married family the whole thing..I click on the YOU TUBE link and I get a little tingle I have to work up the guts to watch it because It still freaks me out 30+ years later..
nice work
It still freaks me out, too.
shareOmg, I was about 9 years old when this trailer played on television and it scared the bejeebus out of me!
shareIt amazes me how many of us were creeped out by the TV spot as kids. It's like we're all coming out of the woodwork! If the people responsible for that TV spot are reading this.....congratulations, you have successfully traumatized millions of little kids. LOL
I posted a Thank You to Code Red DVD in another thread, check it out!
Sadly, I don't remember the trailer to this (born in '73), but what a great thread idea!
The two that I remember terrifying me were "Carrie" (particularly the scene where she makes the mirror warp & break), and "Ruby". I'd have to cover my head in the blanket until they were over, and oddly enough it began a lifelong love of horror films!
That house is not fit to live in. No one's been able to live in it. It doesn't want people.

yeah i remember as well at the age of 5 or 6 watching saturday morning cartoons when this frigging thing came on. wanted to see it real bad but never bothered to beg cause i couldnt even look in the mirror for weeks without the fear of seeing the 3 spinning heads.
shareBeyond The Door.....Step inside IF you dare! Those words and that trailer scarred me for life. I don't know what it was but that trailer created pure TERROR in my seven year old mind. It is probably the scariest memory from my childhood. To the team that put that trailer together back in the day....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
shareOh yes! I was very young. That creeped the heck outta me!
Im the Alpha and the Omoxus. The Omoxus and the Omega
I was twelve years old and I remember the trailer word for word, "'Beyond the Door'. Step inside, if you dare. Who are you?! 'Beyond the Door' where demonic possession lives and evil penetrates the soul". Highly effective!
