those soups are not "raw" but pre-cooked. HOWEVER pea soup is concentrated and is almost a solid before water is added. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to drink Campbells Pea Soup with a straw from a can!

I agree w/ the previous poster: 'twas a comical reference to The Exorcist - as well as being self-referential.
