The Book
Has anyone read the book? It is extremely hard to find this book by Jack Vance - it's a rare book & if you do find it, it's very expensive. There was only a limited amount of copies made of it.

shareI haven't read it (though I'm trying to find it) but I've heard that the story is much more obscure than the movie. Supposedly Ronald rapes Babs.

The movie is way toned down from the book (it was made for TV).
There are two editions of the book, neither easy to find:
The Ballantine paperback original
The Underwood-Miller hardcover, a limited edition
And of course, Bad Ronald is included in the Vance Integral Edition, a 40-volume Complete Works limited edition, sold by subscription only.
I was able to buy a copy of the Ballantine paperback for a reasonable price but that was eight or nine years ago. I checked ebay and half.com but it's not on either site at this time.
Best price on bookfinder.com is $52.00 for the paperback. Several editions of the hardcover are available, starting around $105.
Well, there weren't many copies printed to begin with.
It's definitely worth reading (as is almost anything by Vance).
