Film to DVD transfer

Hello all. I recently purchased one of the many VHS to DVD transfers available on the internet. It was everything I remembered it to be. Question: this film is apparently in the public domain. I've seen posts regarding the film being aired on the Scream channel, & some free showing in Texas. How can we get a clean transfer from film to DVD? How can the owners of the original film be
located. The resulting copy would be much cleaner, & could be edited quite
easily to add a menu & chapters.

If you get through with that process... keep me posted... I'd like to purchase a copy and hand it over to my kids... they need to suffer good old fashion pant-crapping...

I want you to put it between your knees!

I realize this is a bit late, but I just wanted to comment that a film to DVD transfer isn't likely, since most TV movies in the 1970s were video taped, not filmed, and the original tape, if it even still exists, has probably deteriorated to the point where a decent quality transfer would be difficult if not impossible to achieve. I doubt anyone would go to the trouble and expense for what's essentially a "cult" movie with limited market potential. Too bad. I guess we'll just have to make do with the crappy VHS to DVD copies that are still floating around.

Whoever posted that this is P.D. doesn't know what they are talking about. It was produced by Lorimar which means it's now owned by Warner Brothers. Why don't you call them and tell them you want a copy of it?
