Looking for closed off spaces

After all these years, I finally found the title to this movie. Not sure how old I was when I saw it (early teens) but I watched it at night, alone.

One thing it did was this little number on me:

Any time I go to a motel, rent a house, etc. I always check it out for any places that could contain a small room. Rented a house at the coast about 2 weeks ago and there was a locked door on what appeared to be a medium sized closet. Didn't like that at all.

I agree, for it's time it sure was a frightening peice. I saw it alone as well when I was 6 years old. It still eeks me out to this day to imagine someone doing that. When my wife and I bought our first house we found a SECOND attic covered by a drop cieling. The first thing that came to my mind was Bad Ronald. We didn't go in the attic until we gathered up the guns, ya know what I mean?

HAHA!
I am 36 and I do the same thing!!! I remeber around 1991, my mom was doing a little remodeling to her house and there was an extra closet that was not needed, which caused the wall space to be taken up by that door. She decided to just seal up the closet and make it one big wall. The first thing that came to mind was Bad Ronald!!! It is so funny how this movie and the others of teh 70s really made an impressionable impact on my age group!

This is hysterical, because I did the same thing. I was about 8 when I first saw it. I was convinced that someone lived in the space between our fire place and living room.

And yes, even now, I don't like "unaccounted for" space.

We lived in a house in Iowa that had a door that had been wallpapered off. The entrire wall was covered in wallpaper, but you could clearly see the outline of the door. There was about 2 feet of space between the two bedrooms that was unused. I always wondered what was in that space.

We are buying a new place and my husband said that the walls between two rooms didn't line up, and I immediately said, "Bad Ronald's in there!"

reply

Oh yeah...

I first saw this movie in the late seventies, so I must have seen 7 or 8 years old. After watching it, I become obsessed that there was someone living behind the walls! I spent an entire weekend carefully measuring and mapping out every wall in the house on graph paper, just to make sure there were no places for someone to hide!

In my old house's attic I was delighted to discover that there was series of purposed tunnel type areas on each side, and I thought that was neat, also, if you hunt around on the ceiling you will find a panel that pops through and leads to a second attic.

Fall not in love therefore; it will stick to your face.

During the First Gulf War when there was talk of a draft I convinced my grandmother that we had to seal off the pantry, a-la Bad Ronald, so that I wouldn't have to go to war. What can I say? I wasn't very bright.

We broke through a wall at our home to put in a stairway to a lower level rec room and found a workman's overalls, and his entire brown bag lunch, sandwhich and all, sealed in the wall for 30 years.

Ewww, lol. What did you do with them ?

Look Out ! Its Barbra Streisand's Nose !

Probably around the time of "Bad Ronald," a family friend became convinced that there was a hidden room in his house. So he took a sledgehammer to the wall... and was immediately immersed in sunlight. Ironically, years later, the same guy moved into a house that DID have a hidden room in the basement, which was allegedly used as part of the Underground Railroad.

"Bad Ronald" really scared the crap out of me after my family moved into a home with a closed off space. It was about three feet by three feet and could only be accessed from the attic. It was created when an extension was put on the house. The family who lived in the house before us had a son who died there. Or so we were told.
