Similer Themed Movies.
I'd like to know some movie titles with similer themes.
share"Hider in the House" with Gary Busey.

There was also a remake of "Bad Ronald", but it's in French. "

Nothing's Gonna Change My World - The Beatles
I saw 'Hider in the House' awhile ago, but it wasn't very good. There was another one where a guy buys a house and some old wino keeps walking into his place like he still owns the place, stalking the guy, but I can't place the title now....not to mention the many versions of 'Hiders in houses' like 'When a Stranger Calls', "He Knows You're Alone', 'Black Christmas', and 'Don't Answer the Phone' , where usually, the killer is upstairs using another phone line, terrorising the person (usually a babysitter!) downstairs! A lotta good ole creepy stuff like that back in the '70's & early '80's.
Have you seen Bad Ronald? Is it released on DVD or out of print? I may have found someone who can burn a DV-r copy of it, but if it's been re-released, maybe I can find it cheaper...??
"The Film which you are about to see is an account of a tragedy that befell a group of 5 youths."
PS:
I totally forgot about this one, though it's not about a 'kid' in the house, it's about a crazy 'spinster' locked in the attic who breaks out and kills people.....I loved it and have a video copy off ebay, one of my favorite horror 'slasher' films, but has an actual story, not like Friday the 13th.
'Silent Scream' (1980) w/ Yvonne DeCarlo (Yes, Lily Munster!) and the classic Barbara Steele. Look for it!

There was also People under the Stairs.
shareYeah, but that was like lost/kidnapped kids who are trapped under the stairs of some old scary house that everyone was afraid of - it was a weird movie, with a sense of 'Flowers in the Attic', with the spinster and sicko brother who trapped their daughter in a room, etc. - but 'Silent Scream' had a back-story and made sense...it was also more of a 'detective' story than just a 'shock' movie.
I think that (Peaople/Under/Stairs) was directed by Wes Craven, right? And at the time, he was trying to 're-invent' his style/career from 'slashers' to creepy-type haunted house/fun rides, for box office gold....he burned out on the 'slasher' model and later, in the late-90's attempted to make fun of them by doing the 'Scream' series. How many times can ya re-do another version of Halloween, really?

I always thought of "The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane" with Jodie Foster to be something like this, in part because "ronald" stars in that movie(!) but also because it's about a young person who inhabits a house without any parent, murder is involved, and while it 'felt' like a horror movie when I first saw it, it is actually sort of a sad story about a teenager who is simply a victim of circumstances and does what needs to be done to survive.

I remember seeing "The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane" when I was a kid, on 'regular tv' (before there was cable!) and I thought it was kinda spooky at the time. Martin Sheen, trying to force his way inside was creepy enough (I always hated him since then, for that role he played!) but of course, the little switch-a-roo at the end was pretty cool as well. Not the best movie but at that time, I really liked Jodie Foster and she was already a household name from doing stuff like Herbie the Love Bug (wasn't that her?). A lotta memories.
I still have not seen Bad Ronald though, but this thread seems to be about all kinds of stuff!

flowbeer,
You may or may not already know about this, but Silent Scream is getting a DVD release through Code Red.
I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.share
Are you serious? Oh hell yes, it's ABOUT DAMN TIME then! I wonder who got the ball rolling on this, considering Denny Harris is dead, as are most of the other cast members...
all I can say is thanks you for the info, because my VHS copy of Silent Scream is about worn out now!!

Christina's House (2000)

While in the house, Christina hears noises and has a permanent feeling that another person lives there, but her father believes it is the structure being settled. "Into every life a little coffee must spill."
There was this one wierd movie I saw where distance relatives inherit this castle like home from an old lady and they have a blind daughter. The old lady supposedly had a son who had died at the young age of five or six but it turns out she was so mad his dad had left or had an affair with someone that she locked the kid in a secret room and would beat him after feeding him.So when she died he stayed in the house and when the new people moved in he would wonder around the house .. I wish I could remember the name cause it was wierd.
"I think I liked it better when I thought Sylar ate brains."
I *think* the movie you are talking about is Castle Freak. I love that one, and for whatever reason, never associated it with Bad Ronald, but they are indeed similar in some ways!
shareI have tried to find the name of that movie for a long time...thank you!!!!!
