I saw this recently, and it's the first movie I've seen where the main character starts out as a normal, likable guy, then becomes a victim we feel sorry for, but by the end turns into the villain.
So many Hollywood films give us "good guy vs bad guy." It's interesting to see a movie where the main character goes from one extreme to the other.
That's what makes this movie so original and very tragic.
shareI just managed to find a copy of this film, and I'm very excited to watch it. It seems to me from what I've heard, that it's one of those films with a strange theme, and a totally unique atmosphere (The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane is an example of one such film).
