I wonder what Karen blacks character was thinking when

she was sitting in the pilots seat and picks up a papper coffee cup.I was wondering if she was thinking of the poor co pilot who i believe whos cup it belong to.Anybody remember that scene. What do you guys think

reply

"Why didn't this cup get sucked out of the cockpit along with the co-pilot?"

"As god as my witness... I thought turkeys could fly."

reply

LOL good one!!!

reply

"Am I seeing one cup or two?"

reply

Lol.Thats true.I never thought about that.In reality it would of gotten sucked out

reply

I would say that the coffee was hers, it was cold she was wearing a coat, has to stay awake and alert. You even see a stewardess bring her a cup later just before they get to the mountain she has to get them over. Makes sense to me and that she would be in deep thought thinking about her life and family etc. in case things didn't turn out ok. I know I would be.

reply

Maybe it was a very strong blend.

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

reply

Does anyone REALLY care what she was thinking, why she was thinking or IF she was thinking?.

reply

AIRPORT 1975 is wonderful in every way. Pure entertainment of a high calibre.
I really love this movie.

Also, why did the co-pilot get sucked out when the two planes collided? At ~12,000 feet, I don't there would be that much difference between the plane's inside pressure and the outside pressure.

reply

Whilst the plane was not neccessarily pressurised, there would still be greater air pressure inside than out. And thus enough force to blow the co-pilot out of the hole in the cockpit at the moment of impact.
The decompression would not have been as violent as that in the first Airport film, but still noticable for someone standing directly beneath the hole when the breach occurred.

Hi stuartcork7,

Thanks for your reply.

I wondered what she was thinking when she picked up a bunch of twisted metal and threw it on the main control console, which knocked out the radio. DUH.
