Parody Skit
The Carol Burnett Show did a very funny parody of Airport 75, it had me rolling on the floor laughing. I recomend that everyone should check it out.

shareThat Carol Burnett Show skit is one of the best ever. Her "Gone with the Wind" parody was great as well.

Yes but the Carol Burnett paradoy was way before Airplane!
shareI remember both Carol Burnett skits. The Airport parody had Carl Reiner as the Charlton Heston character, and he entered the plane by means of a trampoline (Ha, Ha!). It ended with a parody of Earthquake. The second skit was called "Went With The Wind", and the male character was Rhatt Butler--played by Harvey Korman. I loved when he strolled through her bullet & shell-riddled house and casually said to her maid "I like what you've done to this place". I heard that it set a record for the longest applause when Carol appeared wearing the curtain--with the curtain rod sticking out of her shoulders.
shareI've seen it. One of Carol's better movie parodies, right up there with :Went with the Wind" and "Rancid Harvest".
shareDidn't Carol play both the Karen Black AND the Gloria Swanson roles in the skit? I haven't seen it for decades but I'm fairly sure she did (Vicki Lawrence played the Helen Reddy part). It must have been the only movie parody skit on her show that was cut and edited rather than played out in full before the studio audience.
Carol played Gloria as a continuation of her famous Norma Desmond parody in the SUNSET BLVD spoof that was enjoyed by Swanson (who went on to guest star on Carol's show); I wonder how La Swanson reacted to this one though given Gloria plays "Gloria Swanson" in the movie and had always expressed exasperation that a lot people seemed to confuse her with being a Norma Desmond type off-screen.
