Gloria Swanson and Nancy Olson should of shared a scene together. The were in "Sunset Blvd" together and it would of been a slight wink to the audience. I know "Gloria" was playing herself but it was still a lost opportunity.

Of course the ultimate inside joke was reversing the characters from "Crowded Sky" where it had been Dana Andrews piloting the commercial jet and Efrem Zimbalist flying the plane that collides with it!
Once you've stolen the plot, best to go with an inside joke.
