In the original Airport, Joe Patroni was at home snuggling up with his wife Marie Patroni when the first distress call came in. In Airport '75, his wife Susan Patroni is on the plane with their 12-year-old son Joe Jr.

One can only conclude that Mr. Patroni was sharing the goods with two wives (at least).

Wasn't Patroni a middle aged airplane mechanic in the first Airport. When did he become a pilot.
