rhoda metv
No longer on metv? I love f troop. but looks like it took rhodas spot.
shareI know, it doesn't make sense. You at least let the show play out its relatively short duration. Now it looks like there is no set weekday schedule for shows on MeTV, which is just dumb. People watch these channels for their consistency in programming, or otherwise reunions of certain shows.
Plus, Valerie Harper is going to be announced this week as a cast member on Dancing with the Stars. It'll give her, and the MTM shows, more buzz. And the MTM women are reuniting on Hot in Cleveland this week. MeTV's timing couldn't be more senseless.
I know it makes no sense. I love the show it hasn't been in rerun for years was glad it was on.they should put it on instead of two mtm shows.
shareI think they will air two Rhoda shows Thursday nights. And two Marys Monday nights and that's it per week. I still find the inconsistency damning for a network that's taken the place of TV Land as the go-to place for classic TV. Though it may force me to try out some other classic shows. But not F Troop, for example.
shareI checked the schedule and you are right. MeTv will now air two of the same series shows per night. Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke and Rhoda will all air on one night per week.
shareAnd Antenna TV is still running Barney Miller in four back-to-back eps on Thursdays (9 to 11 pm time slot) in my area, so right now that's causing me to miss out on Rhoda, which is a little annoying. I may just end up getting it on DVD.
shareI've seen every episode of Gilligan's Island moretimes
than I can count,as well as the 3 "reunion" movies from 1978-1981).
I am a bit ticked that it's only Thursdays now, just like
in 2011 when Mary was on 7 days a week, then they cut it to 5.
F-Troop? Liked it as a teen in the 80s but now I'd haveto seriously be in need of entertaining to "want" to watch it.
Right now, thankfully,I have all 7 seasons of "Family Ties" from my
local library to view. 75% more intelligent than "F-Troop" or "Gilligan".
Don;t get me wrong, those 2 came first but time vchanges people.
MAN! One dream's come true, ready for another.
(MR.) happipuppi13 *arf,man!*!
What is MeTV? I wonder if my cable carrier offers it. I found out a couple of days ago about a station called Antenna TV that shows the great old sitcoms, though sadly, no "Rhoda". Still, even "Father Knows Best", "Hazel", and "Maude" are better than most of the garbage that is on TV now.
shareME is similar to Antenna, but had been showing some different programs. Unfortunately recently, though, they look as if they're in some danger of falling into the rut of showing mainly those 'retro' shows that can be seen all over the tube on other syndicated stations.
At this point I think Antenna actually has the better programming of the two (even though they do air some more recent duds like 'The Nanny' and 'Different Strokes' and have been guilty of running 'Leave It To Beaver' for what must be the 257 millionth time over the airwaves).
It's absolutely terrible programming because they had super high ratings over the summer when they had MTM and Rhoda back to back. I mean who watches some of the other shows they had added like F Troop and freaking Gilligan's Island? For real, all those have been in rerun status for years; everyone has seen them over and over. But Rhoda was barely on in reruns and MeTV couldn't wait until the series had run out before they changed it, this fall. I am so mad at MeTv for being so aggravating and stupid for taking off MTM and Rhoda every weeknight. They also took off Combat! and 12 o'clock high from their early mornings each weekday. Now they are only on Saturday morning. What a terrible let down. I went to MeTV's facebook and complained and the Gilligan people there started getting nasty. But MeTV deleted all the comments about anything negative regarding their new schedule. So what can you do? I guess I will have to buy all these shows on DVDs and forget watching them on TV. MeTV sucks now. They will listen when their ratings go down due to these ignorant changes.
shareI enjoy F-Troop (hadn't seen it in nearly 30 years), but I'm on board with you about Gilligan's Island. Really? They really felt that there was a crying need to run that program on yet another syndie tv channel?
(Honestly, I also felt that way about their airing of Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, and The Brady Bunch. All three of those shows have been re-run to death. I was really getting into seeing the classic MTM shows again on a regular basis, and I'm not much happy with their fall programming changes, either.)
