Should have 'spun off' Gary Levy
Some of the final episodes with "Gary Levy" have recently been airing, and the more I watch them the more I realize what an incredibly comic actor Ron Silver was on the show. Silver joined the cast early in Season 3, as 'Playboy' Gary Levy, and became a more enduring (as very sexy) character by the end of Season 4, as a successful clothing store owner. He never returned for Season 5 (September, 1978). By then, he set his sights on Hollywood movies and other TV shows - and became quite a recognized/honored actor.
It's too bad they lost him on RHODA - he and his character would have been an ideal character to 'spin-off' onto his own series. I think Silver was a strong enough actor to carry his own show.
