Best opening credits; season 2 (themed quick edits)
Not the music,but the visuals.
More jazzy and catchy-looking than season 1, but not as 'mellow' as seasons 3-5

I have offically made a choice of favorite opening credits.
The current season on ME-TV right now.
Rhoda and Brenda going around New York and ending with that great shot of Central Patk & bicycling over the small bridge. I even like the closing sequence as well.
The theme is just right,no kids going la-la-la-la and not as odd as season 1.
I like those big blue letters at th start too
By the way,in the season of Her & Joe's break-up,doesn't
the theme sound kind of depressing or have an underlying sadness?

Some trivia...
In the opening credits, there are the six candid shots of Harper in the oval frames. The first ones they shot of her were in a green halter top. The shots were taken that summer, after Harper's drastic (and controversial) weight loss. There was a lot of concern from fans and critics alike on these shots - Harper didn't look healthy. She was too thin, her bones were very visible. CBS asked the producers to redo the shots, which they did. An alternate version was created, one with Harper in a white collared blouse in which she is not showing her shoulders and bony frame.

I always hated those oval framed shots of Valerie Harper in the opening credits of season four (and possibly season five?) They looked really amateurish for a big TV show like "Rhoda", and they didn't flow with the rest of the credits. They just seemed very...odd.
I like season three the best, both in programming and in the opening credits. I know it was the "sad" season where Joe and Rhoda split up, but I think the best and funniest episodes occurred during season three and the ones about Rhoda sticking her toe back into the dating pool, especially the Johnny Venture episodes, are so funny.
Well one thing's for sure....not at all
liking that Season 5 "disco-like" version of the theme.
Sounds almost like the theme from "Lou Grant" or some tacky early 80s sitcom.
Love rules & hate's for fools.

I liked the music they played while showing those portraits(which I didn't find amateurish); it sounded intriguing. Actually, I could do without the rest with Brenda and seeing the sights.
