ME returned to the middle of Season 3

METV finished with Season 5 the beginning of March, and now returned to the middle of Season 3 (since they dropped Season 3 around the Holidays in December to air 'holiday episodes' and then returned in January with the middle of season 4).

So if you are tuning in, it looks like for the next month or so they will finish off season 3.

Again, this past January they started in the middle of S4, so whether they will go from S3 to the beginning of S4 and air those episodes remains to be seen.

The middle of Season 3 returned to METV, where Sally Gallagher is thankfully dropped (with no mention), the last episode with sexy David Groh ("The Ultimatum" which aired 1-30-77)), and the introduction of semi-regular "Johnny Venture" (now that Joe is officially gone) in the following episode "Rhoda's Mystery Man" (2-6-77).

Mary Tyler Moore makes her last 'appearance' as Mary Richards on the show, in a 'phone call' at the end of the episode 'The Ultimatum'. Rhoda calls Mary to tell her she and Joe have decided to date other people, and wants reassurance form Mary that she's doing the right thing by letting Joe go. Mary tells her she's doing the right thing, and that 'she'll get along fine without Joe'. This - I take it - is a message to the audience that Joe is officially gone, but stick with the show anyhow...we'll all get along fine without Joe. (I believe this is when the show also moved from Mondays at 8 PM to Sundays at 8 PM).

Goodbye Joe, hello Johnny....

I menat to post this a week ago but ....

In the show where Rhoda discovrs her mystery date
is Johnny Ventura, they missed a great chance for a sure fire joke.

When Johnny states that he's "Mr. Magnetism",
Rhoda makes some joke that I've already fogotten.

She should have given him an annoyed look & then
quipped back at him,"Are you sure you don't mean "Botulism?"
