Just starting Season 4 and WOW! Rhoda is so thin. Did she have a drug problem during this time? Also, I noticed in Season 3 that Brenda got really pretty. Did she have work done?

Both Harper and Kavner went on a fad diet/weight-loss program that spring/summer (1977), and both actresses lost a lot of weight...as viewers can see. They were both criticized for doing it (I can't recall which w-l program it was, but it was popular and controversial in the mid 70s). Harper and Kavner didn't care what the critics said...they were happy with their appearances.

About 10 episodes into Season 4 and Brenda has cut her hair and gone back to being frumpy. Wonder if she was getting too much shine and the powers that be forced her to tone it down.

Also notice it seems Rhoda's boss at the costume shop is attempting to play Lou Grant's role from MTM

And what's up w/the new music in the intro?
