season 1 opening
I"m currently watching season 1. Please tell me they change the opening and the theme music for the next seasons. That is the worst opening song I've ever heard in my life for a tv show.

shareThey don't,though the opening of the show differs from one season to the next. The music stays the same, but in different variations (season 4 and 5 are the best).

The opening itself I can live with, but my god that music!
shareThough the music is said to be an 'original creation' (I think the composer was Billy Goldberg), it borrows heavily from a tune called "The Ya Ya Man" from the 1920's. Google 'YaYa Man' on YouTube and you'll see what I mean (someone else on a 'Rhoda' forum tipped fans off about this a while ago).

It's actually called "The Yama Yama Man":

Ginger Rogers did a cute version of it in "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle":

Thanks so much for the correction! It didn't sound correct when I typed it, though it didn't sound incorrect either...somewhere in the middle.

Thanks for not getting offended. I didn't want to come off like a jerk by correcting you, but at the same time I thought it would be fun to post the link so that the OP could hear the similarities between the original song and the "Rhoda" theme song. Besides, you were almost right and either way it's kind of a silly title for a song.
shareNo offense at all! I believe in being corrected (and sometimes correcting others) as the main purpose of this type of forum is to get the correct information out to the public...that shared with opinions, which makes for a flavorful discussion.

Thanks for the links. No matter where it came from, I despise that song. I did see the movie The story of Vernon and Irene Castle, but I didn't remember the song from that. Real good movie.
shareI believe that song should've stayed in the 1920's where it belonged.
