I just thought of something.
In Land of the Lost we had an actor named Wesley play a guy named Will. In Star Trek:TNG we had an actor named Wil play a guy named Wesley.
It all makes sense now!

And Mike Westmore did the makeup for both shows, and Herman Zimmerman was the art director on both as well...
