This film is probably one of the more unintentionally hysterical films of all time. Just watching Brando grunt, scratch and curse as though it is profound or something, really doesn't get old if you're in the right mood (i.e. the mood for making fun of pretentious morons). I actually recommend it. It would fit right in between an early evening showing of Toxic Avenger and a late evening showing of Simon Birch. All hilarious in similar ways.

From what I read out the only one who pretends something here is you... it's no secret that Bertolucci loves absurd, humour and fetishes and has always been very honest about it, you pretending to understand that it was unintentional is plain silly.
