Exactly. I suspect Bertolucci had trouble getting the studio to consent to a 4K remaster of the film, so he took steps to make it a hit again. Smart move, I say, so long as Bertolucci lives in a gated community that will keep the rabid feminists out.

DVD and Blu-Ray copies are also selling fast. Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon and Barnes & Noble early this morning. At the time, they still had it for sale. About twelve hours later, both sites are now sold out of them (with the exception of used copies).
