Entertaining movie
This was the first time I had seen this movie, and although it had a made-for-tv feel to it, the fact that it featured so many real snakes, as opposed to today's use of CGI, made it all the more scary.
The acting was okay, and I like Strother Martin, he has a distinctive voice and manages to make you feel sorry for his character, even though he is quite plainly mad. And the scenes with him handling the black Mamba made me squirm.
There was even some humour injected into it, such as when Martin's character is getting his pet python, 'Harry', drunk!!!
Had to question whether the snake having its head blown off at the end was real or done through special effects. I didn't see any disclaimer in the credits!
All in all, a decent little b-movie, with a predictable plot, but a nice pace, and some very dangerous looking reptiles.
