R2 DVD
does anyone know if the special dvd edition, or indeed any dvd edition, is due on Region 2 any time? its the only major peckinpah not available.

Read it a couple of days ago. A word of caution - as Ive just said on another thread, the film will almost certainly be cut again by the BBFC for the chicken shooting scene as it was in 1989 for its theatrical and VHS releases. I've ordered my copy from Amazon.com for this reason.
shareA horsefall will also be cut, as it employs the banned 'tripwire' technique. I don't know if Warner will use the BBFC-edited version for all European territories. Universal, Columbia and Fox have good track records, putting out uncut versions of ULZANA'S RAID, WATERLOO and CONAN THE BARBARIAN outside the UK. MGM/UA used the cut version of KHARTOUM for other European territories. This may have been down to cost or simple oversight. I hope Warner do right by PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID. The movie's had a hard enough time already.
shareexcellent, can't wait for that to come out, saw it at the BFI last year and was totally blown away seeing it on a cinema screen, only ever seen it pan and scan on video before that.
