Mistake on DVD Commentary

I noticed this error on the commentary for the 2005 recut (I think it was on the commentary for the 05 recut, but perhaps it was on the turner version commentary): during the scene at Governor Lew Wallace's hacienda, someone (I dont recall who) says that Garrett's line about "the old pecker-head (Chisum)" starting another cattle war was EXCISED from the 1973 theatrical cut. This is an error-that entire scene, including ALL the dialogue, was left intact for the '73 released version. Has anybody else realized this? At any rate, still a great movie and happy to finally see it on DVD.

Perhaps the only theatrical version whomever was speaking saw back then was the supposed 106 minute overseas cut... and I can easily imagine that scene being gone from such a truncated version.

You're quite right in that the scene at the Governor's hacienda has been in the "street" version of the film all along.

I just wanted to clarify slightly....I believe the line that the commentator said was cut from the 73 version was Howland's line about "I can assure you Mr Garrett that Chisum and (all the other ranchers?) have been advised to recognize their positions" rather than the one I posted earlier. However, as stated previously, this ENTIRE scene and ALL the dialogue in it is EXACTLY the same in both the preview cut AND the theatrical cut.
