At the beginning of the movie who shoots Pat Garrett? To me it looks like Bob Dylan's character but I don't know for a fact.

I'm not so sure. I got the impression of it being Alias too, I must say.

One of them is Poe, Garrett's former deputy. The man with the rifle is Poe's hireling.

What version is that in? Ive only seen the theatrical release, and nobody shoots Pat.

I don't know what planet you are from, but the opening/closing scene, shot in scepia-colour, is definitely of Pat being shot dead.
